Working alongside experienced dermatologists and leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, we conduct clinical trials exploring innovative new therapies designed to improve the lives of people living with dermatological conditions.

Our Principal Investigator

Professor Dedee Murrell

Professor Dédée Murrell established Dermatology Trials Australia in 1997, inspired by her clinical research experience at leading institutions across the United States. Today, she is one of Australia’s leading medical dermatologists and an internationally recognised clinical trials investigator, with extensive experience advancing new treatments across a wide range of skin conditions.

When asked which of her achievements she is most proud of, Professor Dédée Murrell chose the clinical trial centre:

“I’d seen what was possible in the US, and I wanted to bring that to Australia. It took several attempts, but eventually I followed Elise Olsen’s model—off-site, with full responsibility for staff and budget. Now we do trials for a range of dermatology conditions—all while teaching young dermatologists.”
